Male Waxing - Mens Hair Removal

Many men use some kind of hair removal and it is increasing in popularity. Mens back waxing and eyebrow waxing are the most common hair removal treatments at Genco.

At Genco we use hot wax or strip wax depending on what is going to suit your particular circumstances best. Our therapists are well-trained in working with men - they understand that for many men it will be their first foray into male waxing, and our therapists also understand that a man's pain threshold is lower than a woman's.

The benefits of male waxing

After a mens waxing session there are no visible hairs left at all, and the skin is baby bottom smooth. The treatment is totally safe and usually you won’t need the service again for 4 to 6 weeks, however, the re-growth will be of completely new hairs with softer tapered tips.

Is male waxing painful?

This is the most common question we get asked. The answer is, well it isn’t totally pain free, but our therapists are specifically trained to keep the pain to a minimum. Most men who have waxing regularly, get used to the pain.

How we minimise pain during a male waxing session

One of the things that you may find different about us is that we take our time. It doesn’t mean that we pull the strip off any slower, it just means we take our time to prepare the skin for the wax, we stretch your skin with our free hand properly, and we ensure that we maintain the correct angle - always - when pulling the paper wax strip. Maintaining the correct angle and stretching the skin are key to minimising the pain.

Whisky before male waxing treatment?

We also offer you  whisky before the wax. We’re not sure if it works to numb the pain, but it certainly causes a distraction.
